| Dynamic or active lines.
Due to constant pull of the skin by the underlying muscles during facial expression active wrinkles on the face are formed. Tiny quantity of Botox® is injected into these muscles which cause lines. The muscle relaxes and therefore the lines ease out.
BOTOX®
BOTOX® is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium.
Procedure
Treatment takes around 10 minutes as Botulinum
Toxin Type A is placed in the muscles via tiny
injections using very fine needles. No anesthetic
is required.
Mechanism of action
BOTOX® is injected directly into the muscles.
It works by blocking the transmission of nerve
impulses to the injected muscles; this reduces
the activity of the muscles that cause those
persistent lines to form. Longevity of the result
Within 4 to 10 days, you may see a marked improvement in the moderate to severe frown lines between your brows. Results can last for up to 4 months and then gradually will look like they did before treatment.

Side effect
The most common side effects following injection include temporary eyelid droop Localized pain, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising may be associated with the injection. Patients with certain neuromuscular disorders such as ALS, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk of side effects.
The look and facial expressions
Although the results are visible, a treatment with BOTOX® will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you "had work done." The muscle activity that causes lines is simply reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases.
8 days after
If you choose not to continue treatments…
If you do not continue treatments, the moderate to severe lines will gradually look like they did before treatment.
BOTOX® is a brand of Allergan.
