Scars

Scars form when the dermis (deep, thick layer of the skin) is damaged.

  • Accidental injuries
  • Acne
  • Surgery
  • Burns
  • Scratches or bites

It is a natural part of the healing process where the new tissue has to form for the skin to repair itself. Steps can be taken to quicken this healing process, especially in cases of severity.

When it comes to scars, there is no amount of creams or potions that can make scars vanish. None of them can give results that are equivalent to the procedures where physical stimulation of the collagen is required. These are in-office procedures and can range right from something mild like a chemical peel, to something invasive.
This could be:

  • Radio frequency
  • Micro needling
  • Lasers
  • PRP (platelet rich plasma)
  • fillers

Though, for the deeper Indian skin tone that is not too fair, I prefer avoiding lasers and sticking to colour-blind procedures like mechanical micro needling , PRP (platelet rich plasma)or then radio frequency. This increases your collagen and helps the scar, as well as the colour of the scar.
